Abstract

This article identifies six defining approaches to the creative street: the urban, political, artistic, symbolic, technological and atmospheric dimensions, introduced through their motivations, their narratives and their examples, all of them linked to the performing arts.

Oriol Martí Sambola

Degree in Political Sciences from the UAB. Postgraduate studies in Public Space and Citizenship (UAB, UOC , CCC B). Postgraduate diploma in Cultural Management and Policies (UB). Postgraduate diploma in Contemporary Literature (UOC ). Postgraduate diploma in Aesthetics and Digital Narration (UOC ). In 2003 he joined the team of FiraTàrrega; from 2012 to 2015 he was its manager and is currently its executive director. He co-directed the master’s degree in Street Arts Creation at the Universitat de Lleida from 2012 to 2017. He participates in the master’s degree in Cultural Management and in the postgraduate diploma in Performing Arts and Festivals Production and Management at the UB. He has directed and produced several historical or social documentaries, such as La II República i la Guerra Civil a la ciutat de Tàrrega (2006) and Tots som Ulisses (2007). He has also been promoter and organiser of diverse festivals and events linked to alternative culture. From 2015 to 2017, he was president of the Plataforma d’Arts de Carrer. Today, member of the boards of the Associació de Gestors Culturals de Catalunya, the Plataforma d’Arts de Carrer and the Coordinadora de Ferias de Artes Escénicas del Estado Español (CO FAE ).
