The 6th International Symposium of the journal Estudis Escènics, to take place at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona on 3 and 4 October 2024, announces its Call for Papers.

Paper proposals (around 15’ - 20’) can cover any of the four lines of debate in the Symposium and can be submitted (in Catalan, Spanish or English) until 15 May 2024 through the following online form: https://forms.office.com/e/9yd6uwW6YQ

The journal Estudis Escènics is launching a new call for contributions for the monographic dossier in issue 49 (2024): “Circus in the First Third of the 21st Century. Paths and Challenges”.
Authors should submit a prior proposal, which should include an abstract of the content of the article and a brief curriculum. The proposal should be submitted (in Catalan, Spanish or English) on the following online form: https://forms.gle/KxSXBJVdMruU5dKL7

Schedule
- Publication of the call: 13 May 2023
- Submission of the author’s proposal (deadline): 10 July 2023
- Notification of acceptance (or rejection) by the journal’s Editorial Board: 17 July 2023
- Submission of article by the author: 1 December 2023
- Process of assessment, re-assessment, correction and translation: first months of 2024.
- Publication of the journal: December 2024

We are pleased to present issue 47 of the journal Estudis Escènics, which the Institut del Teatre of the Diputació de Barcelona publishes in English, amb also in Catalan or Spanish. We invite you to check its contents and read the contributions you find most interesting. The main dossier of this issue is entitled "Interpreting the Present, Imagining the Future. Catalan Dramatic Literature in Times of Crisis, 2008-2021". The contents of the dossier correspond to the 4th International Symposium of the journal Estudis Escènics (organised in collaboration with the Association of Catalan Language Writers - AELC), which took place on the 13, 14 and 15 October 2021 at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona.

The journal Estudis Escènics of the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, with the collaboration of the Centre for Human and Social Sciences at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (Department of Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature) is preparing the International Symposium “Make your bets! Formats, Devices and Mechanisms for Interaction (in the Relational Scene)”, to be held on 13, 14 and 15 October 2020.

We are pleased to present issue 44 (2019) of the journal Estudis Escènics, published by Institut del Teatre de la Diputació de Barcelona in Catalan or Spanish, and also in English.
We invite you to read the table of contents (through this link) and to read the contributions that you find most interesting.
The main dossier of this issue focuses on the complexity of the relationship between Theatre and City (Theatre and City: Pre-existing scenographies). On the one hand, it focuses on the links between theatre, architecture and society; on the other, it reflects on the dramatic potential of the city.

Call for papers for the International Symposium “Formats, Devices and Mechanisms for Interaction (in the Relational Scene)”

The journal Estudis Escènics of the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona, in collaboration with the Center for Human and Social Sciences of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and the Universitat de Santiado de Compostela (Department of Theory of Literature and Comparaded Literature) organizes the International Symposium “Formats, Devices and Mechanisms for Interaction (in the Relational Scene)”, to be held at the Institut de Teatre in Barcelona on 13, 14 and 15 October 2020 (provisional dates). The symposium will analyse the scope of an expanded concept of interaction (and of an expanded idea of relational aesthetics) in different fields of the current performing-performative praxis. The symposium is accepting papers in any of its fields until 20 April. Following the release of the book August Strindberg (jointly published by the Institut del Teatre [IT] and Comanegra), the journal Estudis Escènics of the IT, with the collaboration of the Department of Catalan Philology of the Universitat de Barcelona, is organising a Day of Debate on the playwright, his work and his influence.
Estudis Escènics opens a call for papers for the specific dossier on Strindberg’s work that will bring together the presentations of the Day of Debate “I am contemporary! Strindberg and Today’s Theatre” in the 2020 issue of the journal.
