El cos passa, la dansa queda

Abstract

Between November 2012 and January 2013 a retrospective exhibition on dance in Catalonia was presented at Arts Santa Mònica. The exhibition, whose curators are Joaquim Noguero and Bàrbara Raubert, the latter being the author of this text, is entitled Arts of Movement: Dance in Catalonia 1966-2012. It is an initial attempt at a historical review of choreography in Catalonia from the past – going back to the period prior to the transition to democracy – up to the present day. It does, however, also provide an overview of circumstances in the previous century reviewing the arts that have accompanied our research. This article also explains the documentation process which took four years to complete and the outcome of the exhibition following its conclusion.
